A Young Albert Braswell, Jr.
Albert Braswell Jr. spent most of his time during World War II aboard an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. There he shared a bunk with a kid from Central Valley California who quickly became his best friend. Occasionally his friend would receive care packages from his family, and they always included preserves made from the figs that they grew on their orchard. The preserves reminded Albert of the ones that his mom made from the Orient and Kieffer pears that dotted the South Georgia countryside that he called home. After his service was complete, Mr. Braswell returned home to Statesboro, Georgia. It was there, a young Albert Braswell, Jr. began canning selling his moms recipe of pear preserves out of the back of his truck.
70 Years Later
More than 70 years later, Braswell Food Company has grown into one of the country's largest producers of specialty preserves, dressings and condiments. Located in Statesboro Georgia Braswell's offers hundreds of specialty foods and is committed to providing our customers with outstanding naturally good products that still exceed the high standards that Mr. Braswell demanded. Braswell's brands are sold worldwide and currently in 40 thousand grocery locations across the US and we can be found in your local community. Braswell's has become the 7th largest manufacture of Jams, Jellies and Preserves and 13th largest producer of salad dressings, and when you taste the quality you will see why we continue to grow. Today, Braswell's specialty preserves, dressings, mustards, fruit butters, sauces, marinades are pantry essentials that are still made with the finest ingredients. Locally grown Vidalia® Onions, pears, and yes, figs from that same orchard in California are used to make award winning products that are now distributed throughout the United States and around the world.
